DIG DEEP (Whetstone AG) 10/13/2019

Do you hope for something? Faith brings substance to that hope. Faith is the evidence of what you hoped for. Hebrews 11:1 Romans 10:17; Romans 4:17. God invested a lot in His Word. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing, and hearing the Word of God. (1) Can’t expect God to move on your behalf if you are not feeding your spirit (2) faith is a muscle….keep building it!

Pentecost Sunday March 20, 2018

Pentecost experience is about harvest. We ask the question: How do we get the people in here?  We have a message the community needs!  We are the “spiritual cultivators” of this region (James 5:7).  We sow the seed.  The rains are God’s part. Then we pick our fruit.  The heathen/lost are our fruit, our inheritance for the Word we have sown!  The latter rain comes after the seed is planted. We are instructed to pray.  1 Timothy 2:1-4 instructs how, what, who, and why we pray.  It is God’s will that all be saved. Romans 8:20-28  God wants to use you in prayer (1) groaning: God is in you (spirit) praying out His will. (2) I will ( 1 Corinthinans 14:13) I will pray with my spirit (not God will)!  How does your spirit pray?  With utterances of the Holy Ghost.  God can’t do anything on this earth without a body. He will let you in on secrets, mysteries and insights! Rom. 8:28 is often quoted…but we know that all things work together for good- when?  After we pray in the spirit! We are praying the plan back to God!

Love and Marriage

This is a unique Mother’s Day sermon that starts in Genesis with the creation of woman and proceeds to Ephesians and Colossians and an expose on agape love from 1 Corinthians 13. There is much talk in religious circles of the subject of submission (in regards to women) but the omission of the prerequisite of love tells much of our marital relationships/home life and speaks to the responsibility of men in these situations.

Spiritual Birth/Whetstone Assembly of God

Birth requires a seed: both naturally as well as spiritually in the creative process. We are created in the image of God, we are spirit.
When one is born again = spiritually born of the seed of God (1John 3:9). Naturally born in a physical body with a spirit that can potentially contain the Spirit of God while initially separated from God. Spirit of God indwells and seals you with the anointing and you can experience God and HIs revelation will be ignited within you through His Word (Bible) to walk out your life in wisdom and power!

Spiritual Ministry: Faith Christian Church (May 19, 2019)

Being born of the Spirit is a spiritual thing. Our natural man will never please God. Religion will never please God…Have a form of godliness but no power.
In Acts…the church was established in faith. Paul’s churches grew in faith.(Acts 16:5)
Rom. 10:17 The churches grew in the knowledge of God’s Word. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word.
Rom. 10:8-10 Speak the knowledge of God.
Acts. 16:5 Established in religion- no! Established in faith…believe in your heart and confess it with your mouth and it will become a reality in your life.
It will come to pass!
You can have experiences in the realm of the spirit.

God knows where you are and He knows how to get you where you need to be.
Stay put and wait on Him.
Sow the Word. God has a plan. Be obedient and walk it out.

Forgiven? Forgive! Whetstone Assembly of God

Forgiven….now it is time to forgive. You cannot forgive others until you have forgiven yourself. When you extend forgiveness to someone it should be a release of guilt and a restorative practice. God restores us to favor and remembers it no more. We should act like Him! ( 1 John 1:9)  Walk by faith and not by sight and you might not even feel forgiven but if you ask according to the Word of God He will do what His Word says.  Mark 11:22-25 tells us it is necessary to walk in forgiveness in order for our faith to work.  The definition of forgiveness is:  not as the cliche, “I’ll forgive but I will never forget!” But rather there are two parts to forgiveness…..my accountability and their response…release and remember no more (even if they don’t receive your offer).

Spiritual Ministry

There is a realm that most of us have never entered but it is the realm of the spirit.  God doesn’t move by your reasoning….God doesn’t move by religion.  Our natural man will never please God but faith pleases God.  The Word of God produces faith.  The more you know of the Word of God the more your faith is increased.  Ministry can be more effective if it is done in the spirit.  Circumstances can press in but you must press into the realm of the spirit and rise above them through the Word, prayer, and worship.

The Power of the Love of God/Whetstone Assembly of God 06/01/2019

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 defines the God kind of love.  This love never fails and is of the spirit.  The message looked at two stories of two women who were outcasts and showed how Jesus chose to reveal Himself to them.  Why did God choose them? ( John 8:1-11 and John 4:1-) God calls those who will receive Him.  Christ didn’t die for the godly (Rom.5:5).  Life plays out itself in 4 types of love.  God’s love is truth and He desires us to live by this standard.   Our responsibility is to love the unloveable and feed them the Word of God.  This love gives purpose and does not condemn.  Sometimes the love of God appears foolish because it does not look at the flesh it discerns the heart and reveals God’s favor.

Do I Have To Earn God’s Love?

John 3…How do we enter into the kingdom of heaven?  When we are born again the kingdom of God is in us (Luke 17:20). The Bible is a spiritual book written to your spirit. You are spirit.  You have recieved the wisdom and power of God in Christ.  This experience was more than just forgiveness of sin. 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares you are now the very righteousness of God.  You are to walk out this divine nature daily, you don’t have to wait for heaven. Walking with God is not just “being religious.”  I cannot earn God’s love, He freely gave it to me and it is available for whoever would call on His name and believe.  You are now born of God and His seed remains in you!

What Does God Think About You?

This sermon was taken from 1 Corinthians 1:24-26 and chapter 2.  Have you had people speak negatively over your life?  Do you deal with issues that seem to entrap you and keep you spinning in circles?  God does not go by what man thinks.  God looks at the heart.God has called you for a purpose.  He calls you friend.  You are a “friend of God.”  He chose you when you had nothing to offer Him.  God calls you precious: esteemed as something of considerable worth and value.  He has ordained your life for an assigned task.  God can raise anybody up who has been called a “loser” and make you a “winner!”    He says you were worth His personal and invested interest!  This is what God thinks about you!
