Faith is represented in the authority of a command! Command the devil to stop. How? Speak God’s Promise (Word) and it shall come to pass! This is the year in the realm of the spirit to be bold! God will then move and how He does is His business! When are you going to rise up and believe what God can do? Jesus spoke this to the Roman Centurion through friends in Matthew 8:10: “Go your way- and as you have believed, so it shall be done unto you.” Yes, you, too, can say this to your circumstance, ” If God’s Word says it and I believe it than it shall be done!”
We believe God in God by what we hear and by what we see. God can heal by faith, hearing the Word, or by manifestations of the Spirit to reveal Himself. Whose work is it? Is it the work of God or something that we need to be doing? Sometimes there is a lot of doing and a lot of work! This sermon challenged the Church to “be the Church” and to do the works of God.
Looked at two stories from Mark 5. Faith gets God’s attention! Jairus was a ruler in the synagogue and his only daughter was very sick. He sought out Jesus for her healing. There was an outcast woman who had been sick for 12 years and was no better who got Jesus’ attention in the midst of a thronging mass of people. He said, “Somebody touched Me.” Sure enough she pressed through believing and speaking her faith and she was made whole. However, in the middle of this situation Jairus received news that his daughter had died. Jesus told him, ” Do not fear, only believe.” Many times we face circumstances that intimidate us and our faith is shaken. Be bold, meditate in God’s Word and speak it over your life. You will be amazed that God can raise you up just as He did Jairus’ daughter, in the face of impossible news and you can have what you believe in faith to be so from God’s Word. Do not be afraid, only believe…..all things are possible!
Spirit of God said, “Despise not small beginnings!” 1 Peter 2:1 Lay aside and put off (1)malice: vicious mean-spirited attitudes, (2) hypocrisies : be who you are, God loves you, (3) envying and evil speaking: slander and defaming speech to each other. Church should be a safe place, be real. 1 Peter 2:4 maybe you find yourself not respected and desired by family, friends, and associates? But you are chosen of God and precious! God chose those who were unfit and calls them highly regarded and esteemed. This sermon also looked at 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 and how God’s love is extended to each of us. God’s measure of success is faithfulness not perfection. God values you!!!!
God does not sin and He will not test, tempt, or ask you to sin. There are three kinds of wisdom (1) satan (2) man (3) God’s. Many Christians buy into the fruit of satan’s wisdom. Truth or lie? God said His Words are spirit and life. Satan’s are the opposite of God’s and are death and separation from truth. Religion will always tell you what God says and thinks. But God always thinks the way He speaks in His Word, He is unchanging! So when you wonder if God is speaking to you…..examine it with His Word/truth and ask yourself, “Who told you that?”
2 Corinthians 2 :11 urges us not to be ignorant of satan’s devices/maneuvers. This takes place in the realm of the soul (mind, will, emotions). This is where satan’s mode of operation takes place! Satan wants to get your mind off of who you are in Christ, and have you obsess over your circumstances. He is seeking to crush and consume you in your thoughts and render you helpless and hopeless. This sermon referenced the apostle Paul’s struggles with people who sought to destroy him and the work God had called him to do. Nothing new, we see this today as well. God never changes and neither do satan’s tactics to frustrate the gospel. People will still present the Word of God deceitfully and those who are pure will still face opposition of fellow believers railing against the message and messenger of God. The reason for this is found in the scripture sharing the sower/seed. Satan comes immediately to take away the Word.
We need to walk in the authority of God’s Word and who we are in Christ and realize that God is bigger than anything that is not of Himself and He is able to make us equal to anything that should oppose the Truth. We will then find God’s power to be enough!
1 Corinthians 1:25-29 God called you Precious! Get into the Word of God to see how God looks at you and thinks of you! In John 15:12-16 calls you friend (covenant term). God doesn’t call you loser, unworthy, sinner, etc… He calls you Precious!
You can think different, believe different and act different. Faith affects your everyday life. Why does God want us to have faith? To receive the promises He has obligated Himself to through His Word. Take time in the Word to get to know God. Story in Mark 2:1 and Luke 5:17 (1) God always responds to faith. (2) we each start with the same measure of faith but it can be increased by hearing and hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10:17), (3) God honors His Word above His own name/throne. You can experience His presence and glory in your life!
This sermon was about having the faith of God. Faith is a spiritual force. We all come into relationship with God on the same measure of faith. We can build our faith on the knowledge of God’s Word. Faith is like a muscle and it will need to be worked. The spiritual principle is that working your faith is God’s design and He will hear you and bring it to pass. Faith bears an image of God’s power. The mountain to be removed referenced in Mark 11:22-24 is anything you are going through God’s Word gives you the ability to move the mountains in your life and make you victorious. (1) recognize you have a mountain (2) God instructs you to deal with the mountain (3) Faith will be tried/tested
This sermon examined the story of the Roman centurion who heard about Jesus and sent a proxy to have his servant healed. This man believed in authority and said to Jesus, ” Just speak the Word and my servant will be healed.” God doesn’t owe you anything. Entitlement mentality or biblical principle? God honors faith! Exercising faith will put God’s attention on you! The question is: Who is Jesus to you? He is the Son of God. We can follow Jesus’ example in life/ministry as a man anointed and speak the Word of God in authority over our lives!
