This sermon examines further the two spiritual experiences. The born again experience in Eph. 2:8 is not of you (Greek) it is the gift of God! In this experience you receive the gift that was bought by Jesus in your redemption. You receive the Holy Ghost as the worker in your life. In the baptism in the Holy Ghost you ask Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Ghost (Person), it is a transferrence of power and He lays His hands on you and your life radically changes. Just as Jesus did normal life up until His baptism and grew in wisdom/knowledge/favor and then He was launched out to do the works of God and His fame went out and multitudes were drawn to His ministry/teaching. He desires to launch you out in His power for ministry so He can demonstrate and manifest His glory and power just as we observe in the ministry of Jesus the man anointed of the Holy Ghost (Acts 10:38). We have been commanded and given the great commission as seen in Mark 16 and Matthew 28. We are to be witnesses as referenced in Acts 1:8. God’s plan, His divine will has not changed!
You receive a measure of the same power that was on Jesus (without measure), upon you to do the works of God. God wants to endue you individually with power from on high to represent Him in this world as His ambassador. You are to be His witnesses to the world, you are to work spiritually harvest with His power! This promise (Acts 2:38) is to every person who has accepted Jesus as Savior…it is for you! In the Greek this promise is a declarative sentence, a statement of truth….and with the implication of the obligation to bring to pass!
